Join us for a fun filled day at the Hazel Outdoor Discovery Center! We will be exploring nature and having lots of fun.
Plans for the day.
Pond Exploration – Kids will use dip nets to collect specimens from the pond and then further identify macro invertebrates, amphibians, fish and any other critters we find. They will be sure to get a little messy and wet.
Owl Poo- Kids will dissect owl pellets (poo) and see what foods they eat. This includes small rodents and finding and identifying animals by their bones.
Fishing- Kids can bring their own rods or ones will be provided for them to fish.
Animal Parts – Kids will get up close and personal as they explore animals through skulls and pelts.
Edible Entomology – Yes we will eat bugs and learn about them too!!
Nature hikes, habitat exploration, survival games and so much more.
Kids will need to bring a packed lunch, change of clothes and shoes. More details will be emailed once you register.
